Venues Perfect for Small Weddings and Elopements

We know a lot of you have had to change your original wedding plans, but that doesn’t mean your day can’t still be so, so special! We’ve got ideas and are here to help. Here’s a run down of our favorite small wedding or elopement locations in and around Philadelphia!

The Maas Building

The Maas Building is located at 1325 N Randolph St in North Philadelphia. We’ve photographed weddings here that are usually around 70-100 people. Currently the Maas Building is working on putting together pricing options for smaller weddings. We love that the space includes a raw industrial inside and a beautiful garden outside. There are options for both fair weather days and inclement weather.

The Powel House + The Physick House

The Powel House is located at 244 S 3rd St in Old City Philadelphia. It is a beautiful historic landmark surrounded by gardens and the charm of Old City. From elopements to micro-weddings, it is the perfect venue if you’re looking for a classic Philadelphia style.

Also check out The Physick House at 321 S 4th St around the corner from The Powel.

Philadelphia Magic Gardens

Nothing can compare to Philadelphia Magic Gardens. Located at 1020 South St in South Philadelphia, it is an immersive mixed media art environment that is completely covered with mosaics by artist Isaiah Zagar. Providing both an indoor art gallery, and an outdoor “sculpture garden,” The PMG has both indoor and outdoor options.

Vaux Studio

Vaux Studio is a bright and airy wedding chapel right in Center City! Located at 1209 Spruce Street, this location is perfect for an intimate ceremony, followed by a delicious meal at one of Philadelphia’s restaurants. Packages start at $595 for up to 12 guests, and the space can accommodate up to 24.

Barbuzzo

Barbuzzo, a mediterranean restaurant and bar, located at 110 S 13th St, hosts private small events in their upstairs dining room. Not only do you get a well styled space in the heart of the city, you also experience one of Philadelphia’s best restaurants.

La Colombe

A trendy cafe serving house-brand artisanal coffee, pastries & snacks in a sleek space, La Colombe is an amazing unique space that’s great for a small wedding. Located at 1335 Frankford Ave, La Colombe is in the heart of Fishtown, with lots of great photo locations walkable from the shop.

Terrain at Styers

Terrain at Styers, located at 914 Baltimore Pike in Glen Mills, hosts small events and elopements inside their Mushroom Hut. Micro Weddings at Terrain also include menus featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

Bartram’s Gardens

Bartram’s Garden is located in Southwest Philadelphia at 5400 Lindbergh Blvd. For a small fee of $300, you can rent the garden for 2 hours for your elopement. The garden and grounds offer many locations that are picturesque. From the field, you can even see the city skyline.

Fleisher Art Memorial

Fleisher Art Memorial is a one-of-a-kind campus and century-old historic building. Located at 719 Catharine St in South Philadelphia, it’s near the Italian Market and Queen Village neighborhoods. It creates the special vibe sought after for many different kinds of occasions, from small weddings and parties to performances and meetings.

Promise Ridge

Promise Ridge, located in Stroudsburg in the Poconos, that Celebrant, Alisa Tongg has cultivated at her home. The ceremony space overlooks the Appalachian Trail ridge, resulting in a stunning backdrop from any direction.

Osteria

Another amazing restaurant in Philadelphia, Osteria, located at 640 N Broad St, offers several private dining options from as few as 8 people, to 120 people. If you love good Italian food and perfect wine parings, Osteria is the right place for you.

Talula’s Gardens

One of Stephen Starr’s restaurants, Talula’s Garden is located at 210 W Washington Square, right near Independence Hall in Old City. The restaurant provides farm-to-table cooking using local ingredients that reflect the season.

The Love

Another Stephen Starr eatery, The Love is located at 130 S 18th St in Center City and features private dining and American fare. It can accommodate up to 20 guests in their private, darling Loft space.

Portico at Awbury Arboretum

Awbury Arboretum is located at 1 Awbury Rd in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia. An exciting addition to this venue is that events will have access to Peachtree Catering for exclusive (and delicious) catering needs. Awbury Arboretum's 55-acres of public landscape and historic Francis Cope House transport you from urban surroundings to a serene, lush landscape. It is a location for any type of wedding - big or small, with an ever changing landscape for the seasons.

We know the list can go on and on, but we’ve experienced amazing days and nights at all of the lovely venues we’ve listed here. We hope this helps you out when planning your future small wedding or elopements!
