Love Me Do Photography Studio Tour

Something we love about our studio space is having guests! So in the current climate, we thought a virtual tour was in order. In the heart of Fishtown, we’re surrounded by some of our favorite restaurants and coffee shops. When we need to stretch our legs after a few hours in front of our computers, we’ll grab an iced coffee from La Colombe or pastry from Cake Life. Our friends at True Hand are just down the street and Carina’s dog spends her day in daycare close by at The Grove Hound. The 2000 square foot loft space used be be the home of the Fight Factory, a mixed martial arts studio. We redesigned the space to better fit our needs (and covered the black paint!). Here’s a look around:

Our picnic table is where we eat lunch together. It used to be several feet bigger but we had to trim it down to fit our previous space, which was about 1/4 the size of this studio. It was handmade by Jesse Parsons.

This is one of our “general use” spaces. It is ever changing. We got the daybed as a surface we could use for Newborn and Baby sessions. For us, it’s our favorite space to take a phone call.

This is our “Newborn Session” area. We designed this small corner to be the perfect backdrop for baby photos. We especially love the quality of light our studio gets.

Another crowd pleaser is this hanging chair. Our friend Whitney of Anethum Jewelry gifted it to us when we moved in.

The large windows makes our studio space perfect for plants of all kinds. Some of our favorite local places to get plants are City Planter, Vault + Vine, Stump and Urban Jungle.

Our desk area sits in the far back corner of the office, where it is the darkest. It’s important that we don’t have any sun hitting us or our screens so that we can edit more accurately.

This is Tricia’s desk! Behind her is a seamless that we sometimes shoot small product photos on.

Amanda, Carina and Tricia’s desk all form a mega desk where we can converse while editing.

The stairs leading up to our space start white and turn coral as you go up to the studio.

And finally, our “patio garden!” This area had two doors that open up onto the street below. The plants love this corner because it gets the most light. It’s a very special place!
